"At The Oaks” is the new two single CD from “Lee Nelson & the O.G. Rock Band”. This is not your average run of the mill School Of Rock CD. This project has heart and soul flowing out of it.
    The first track "My Own Sunshine"; this touching, melodic groove, brings most to tears the first time they hear it. The song was designed to enlighten, inspire, and cultivate Autism Awareness.
    "When I was asked by Victor Hays (lead behavioral specialist of the Autism Program @ Oak Grove) to write a song that promotes Autism Awareness I didn't have to look far for my inspiration. I simply reflected on my relationship with my lovely nephew Ahmed, who has Autism. I thought about how when people meet someone with Autism they often see the behaviors and characteristics of the Autism before they get a chance to see who that person really is. Before the person with Autism gets a chance to let their light shine. I wanted to give a voice to those with Autism who can't speak for themselves, and thought about what they might want to say to the world."
    The second song "Recovery" was written to bring awareness to Red Ribbon Week. Inspired by the true struggle of those battling substance addictions.
    Lee Nelson is the director of the O.G. Rock Band. The rest of the band and its leading inspiration are the kids of Oak Grove, whose musical talents and energy provide the ever increasing life force that make it all possible.
